Guidelines for OCA Optical Adhesive Die Cutting Process

OCA (Optically Clear Adhesive) is a special adhesive used for bonding transparent optical components such as lenses. It is required to be colorless, transparent, have a light transmittance of over 90%, good bonding strength, and can cure at room or moderate temperature with minimal shrinkage. In short, OCA is a specialized double-sided adhesive with optical transparency!

Pre-operation procedures for OCA optical adhesive die cutting

(1) Review handover records to understand equipment operation status.

(2) Check die-cut quantities and product quality according to production schedule and construction requirements.

(3) After confirming no foreign objects on the machine, thoroughly inspect and adjust the machine.

Pre-production operating specifications for OCA optical adhesive die cutting

(1) Check if the die cutting matches the box size.

(2) Check if the product has any bite marks.

(3) Select the bottom template material based on the product quantity, paper type, and box structure.

(4) Install the die cutting plate and tighten the screws securely to prevent loosening. Make the bottom template with a thickness equal to the paper thickness of the die-cut product.

(5) Install the bottom template, clean the surface of any debris, and tighten it.

(6) Adjust the die cutting pressure according to the paper thickness. When adjusting, gradually increase the pressure from light to heavy until it reaches 80% penetration to avoid equipment damage.

(7) Adjust the positions of the upper and lower pins on the paper removal component and lock them.

(8) After adjusting all components, produce a sample according to the box requirements. After inspection with no quality issues and approval from the supervisor, normal production can proceed.

Operating specifications during OCA optical adhesive die cutting production

(1) Follow the construction requirements and approved sample standards stated in the work order.

(2) During production, conduct sampling checks every 5-10 minutes. Report any quality issues promptly and resume production after resolving them.

(3) Conduct comprehensive inspections after each die cutting and fill out the "Die Cutting Process Form." If any quality issues arise, separate the products promptly and fill out an "Abnormal Product Process Form."

(4) If material issues are discovered, production should be stopped. Fill out a "Production Material Quality Feedback Form" and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve the issues for subsequent production preparations.

Operating specifications after OCA optical adhesive die cutting production

(1) The machine operator should fill out the "Die Cutting Daily Report," "Process Quality Status Statistical Form," and "Production Equipment Daily Inspection Form" every day.

(2) Separate and properly identify the die-cut products as qualified or non-conforming.

(3) At the end of production, the equipment should be stopped at the opening position.

(4) Perform equipment maintenance according to the regular maintenance procedures.

(5) Fill out the shift handover record diligently.

(6) Turn off the power.

(3) Bare cutting has strict requirements for the environment and materials. Control temperature and humidity to minimize electrostatic generation. Ordinary paper materials, other than dust-free paper, should not enter the dust-free room due to friction, as it can also generate static electricity. If the material itself is dirty, contaminated, or has debris from cutting, it can cause foreign particles on the product through static adsorption if not removed before use. Personnel control is important as it is a result of human factors. Failure to comply with management regulations can deteriorate the dust-free environment.

(4) Bare cutting produces satisfactory results with regular indentations around the product and adhesive squeezed to cause shrinkage.
